Kristi Newhouse, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Kristi Newhouse is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida. She brings 21+ years of experience to the field of social work, specializing in working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families struggling with emotional and behavioral problems, and providing support, education, and guidance. Kristi holds a Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of South Florida.
Kristi began her career as an in-home therapist providing therapy for children and their families. Realizing that her passion extended to a macro level, she became a Program Coordinator for a large agency, and eventually Director of Programs. Kristi explains that her interest lies in assisting to affect entire communities and systems of care. Helping to develop programs, streamline processes and increase community awareness and collaboration are areas that she is passionate about.
For over ten years, Kristi was an employee of Magellan Health Services in which she was responsible for assessing level of care and medical necessity for individuals seeking behavioral health services. Kristi now has an established private practice in Cape Coral, Florida in which she provides individual, couples and family therapy. Kristi integrates a variety of therapeutic methods including cognitive behavioral therapy, to help individuals explore relationship and behavior patterns and overcome emotional conflicts. She helps clients cope with life stressors and adapt to changes by serving as an active listener and providing the tools to regain control, confidence and overall fulfillment.
Kristi’s motto for her practice is “Helping to make it easier to take the next step.” She explains that although the motto is simple, it depicts the value and importance of the relationship shared between therapist and client. Believing that the decision to move forward in achieving personal peace is fundamental and is accomplished by a collaborative effort.
